The Absolute Minimum Every Software Developer Absolutely, Positively Must Know About Unicode and Character Sets (No Excuses!)
So, I’m working on a project where the “engineer” designed the database as UTF-8 and the HTML pages in ISO. Anyone who works with development know this is a huge mess, and it’s wrong! UTF-8 is your best friend, never forget that.
Anyway, I was reading a article about charsets and all, and I found a really good one, by Joel Spolsky, where he talks about the history of charsets and the best way to work with them.
Here is the link, I suggest you read it! http://www.joelonsoftware.com/articles/Unicode.html
